Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)
We like to think — or at least imagine — that we can be close to someone in life. Not the sort of pseudo closeness we hear about in love songs and in movies, but closeness that is marked by truth and moved by intimate moments. Our human nature yearns to trust wholeheartedly, to be supported strongly, and to love gently. At certain points of life, however, we may feel abandoned or betrayed. When difficulties come, we may feel disappointed and as if there is no one to turn to.
