Today's Scripture Reading is from Psalm 62:5, (NKJV): "My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him."
We live in a world that wants everything fast. From high speed internet to fast food restaurants, to fast cars and automatic bill pay, it goes without being said that instant gratification is the order of the day. If we’re not careful, we can fall into the trap of wanting things to happen immediately to the neglect of perfect timing.
In a world that prides itself on speed, patience is our least concern. Waiting is a dreaded fear. We forget that the best things often do not come as fast as we may like. They take time. And time takes time. Thus, we resort to other measures to satisfy our desires, never realizing that at some point, we will have to patiently wait for what we really want.
