Today's Devotion is "Our Servant, Jesus Christ" (Day 28 in our series 40 Days of Easter Truth)
Our Easter Focus Passage today is: Isaiah 52:13-15
13 See, my servant will act wisely; he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.
14 Just as there were many who were appalled at him—his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness—
15 so he will sprinkle many nations, and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.
Now, here's today's Easter Truth:
When we hear the word "servant", we think of a person who performs duties for other people, a helper, or an assistant. With that definition, we would not put Jesus Christ in the category of a servant. We see Him as the King of kings and Lord of lords, One who sits on the right hand of God the Father in power and great glory. Servant is not the first word that comes to mind when we speak of Jesus. But in this passage, Isaiah refers to Jesus as a servant. Jesus is the perfect substitute for Isaiah, the children of Israel, and every single person born into the world.
